About Feel The Benefit
Helping working parents reduce nursery costs — without changing a thing about their child's care.
Nursery fees from gross pay — not net pay
Feel The Benefit Ltd gives employers a simple, effective solution to help their employees with the cost of nursery childcare. Through a Workplace Nursery Scheme, nursery fees are paid from salary before Income Tax and National Insurance are deducted — rather than from take-home pay.
Think of it as the Cycle to Work Scheme but for nursery fees. The same nursery, the same hours, the same child — with the fees simply coming out of gross pay instead of net pay. No change to the care, just a significant reduction in its cost.
There is no cost to join for employers or employees, and in most cases the employer also saves thousands through reduced Employer National Insurance contributions.
Average full-time UK nursery fees
According to the Coram Childcare Survey 2025, the average full-time nursery place costs:
A 33% saving on a £1,200/month nursery fee keeps nearly £4,800 a year in a family's pocket rather than going to HMRC — and the more you earn, the more you save.
The Feel The Benefit difference
Childcare costs should not be a barrier to going back to work
We are dedicated to ensuring that the cost of childcare does not force working parents out of employment. We are passionate about making a positive difference by:
Over a decade of experience
Our leadership team has more than a decade of experience offering this benefit to companies of all sizes — from one-person businesses to multinational corporations with thousands of staff. We work hard to give every client the support they need, regardless of their size.
We are more than happy to discuss the scheme with you and your team, and we handle all of the setup, documentation, and ongoing administration so you do not have to.
One extra benefit worth knowing: by reducing their gross salary through sacrifice, employees can make themselves eligible for Child Benefit if their salary drops below the £60,000 threshold — adding further value on top of the nursery fee saving itself.
Why this matters for working families
The evidence is clear that childcare costs are driving parents — disproportionately mothers — out of the workforce. Research published by the Office for Budget Responsibility highlights a 9:1 ratio of mothers to fathers leaving employment to look after their children — a pattern strongly linked to the gender pay gap and the high cost of childcare.
A Workplace Nursery Scheme addresses this problem directly. By making nursery care significantly more affordable, employers can help retain skilled staff — particularly working mothers — who might otherwise leave employment because childcare costs make it financially unworkable to stay.
